Saint Sabbat’s crusade from Hagia
Saint Sabbat’s crusade from Hagia was the original campaign of Saint Sabbat, begun in the hills of Hagia in the thirty-fifth millennium (M35). Hagia is a feudal shrine world in the Sabbat cluster and the saint’s birthplace. The crusade proceeded from this world, and it is distinct from the later crusade conducted in the same cluster. The saint’s campaign originated on Hagia, where her remains were later kept. Two of the world’s principal religious institutions are associated with her: the Doctrinopolis and the Shrinehold. The source material records no further detail of the crusade’s course beyond its beginning in the hills of the planet. The crusade’s point of origin gives the later struggle for Hagia its continuing significance, since the contest concerned the world from which the saint’s campaign first proceeded. During the later crusade in the Sabbat cluster, Infardi cultists seized the Doctrinopolis, and Imperial Guard forces subsequently recaptured it. In the same campaign, a relic housed in the saint’s Shrinehold defeated a Chaos fleet in orbit around the planet.
