Search for the Ebon Talon
The Search for the Ebon Talon was an expedition by the Red Corsairs in early M42 to Kyren, a daemon world of Tzeentch in the Maelstrom, to claim the Ebon Talon, a relic that the Lord of Change Kairos Fateweaver claimed could awaken the dormant Blackstone Fortress given to the Red Corsairs by Abaddon the Despoiler. The lieutenant Verngar proposed the search; Huron Blackheart, suspecting that Verngar meant to use the relic to seize command of the warband, agreed only on condition that he went too, pursuing Verngar in his battle barge Spectre of Ruin. Kyren was made entirely of crystal, and its mutated tribes warred endlessly around the mountain where the relic lay. The forces of Huron and Verngar fought them together, but Verngar reached the Talon first. Its removal unmade the world, and the Red Corsairs escaped before Kyren exploded.
