Seclusion of Lorgar on Sicarus

In the long aftermath of the Horus Heresy, the Word Bearers fled into the Eye of Terror, and there their Primarch, Lorgar Aurelian, completed the apotheosis his labours had purchased: he rose a Daemon Prince in service to Chaos Undivided, and it was said that his birth-scream tore through the Immaterium, heard by things that should not have ears to hear. Rather than lead his Legion in the warp’s endless wars, Lorgar withdrew from them entirely. He shut himself within the Templum Inficio, a shrine raised upon Sicarus, the cathedral-crusted daemon world that serves as the Word Bearers’ principal seat within the Eye — a planet whose surface is said to be nothing but temple built upon temple, generation upon generation, where Kor Phaeron and Erebus too have long held influence. For thousands of years Lorgar forbade any soul to disturb his meditations there, and his followers obeyed, leaving their Primarch to whatever communion he sought in the dark. That seclusion was broken at least once. When the warp-twisted Corvus Corax went hunting the Traitor Primarchs in his grief and fury, he found Lorgar and forced him into battle at a place no record fixes with any certainty. Corax overmatched him, and Lorgar fled back through a portal into his exile, leaving Corax to swear he would hunt him down again. Rumour alone, unconfirmed by any reliable witness, places Lorgar once more at the head of Word Bearers hosts in the era after the Great Rift’s opening, preaching to his armies as they move through the fractured galaxy.
