Siege of Reillis

The Siege of Reillis was an action of the early Great Crusade, fought within its first three decades, while the Emperor still campaigned alongside his own host and before any primarch beyond Horus had been recovered. Horus, then sole among the Emperor’s found sons and commander of the Luna Wolves, fought at his father’s side during the siege, the two standing back to back against the enemy. In the course of this fighting the Emperor preserved Horus’s life. The debt is recorded as repaid later and elsewhere, on the Ork world of Gorro, where Horus severed the arm of an Ork that had seized the Emperor by the throat. No date, adversary, or order of battle survives for Reillis, nor is its outcome recorded. The world itself is charted within Segmentum Pacificus, though its precise location remains uncertain.
