Siege of San Leor

The Siege of San Leor was the prolonged defence of the agri world San Leor, in the Ultima Segmentum, by Sister Sabrina and her Sisters of Battle. San Leor, the traditional place of pilgrimage for a newly elected Abbess of the Adepta Sororitas, was engulfed by a warp storm about a century before the opening of the Great Rift. Sabrina, recently elected Abbess, disappeared on the journey; she and her Sisters had in truth become embattled on the world against the Alpha Legion, daemons and traitor Guardsmen, and survived for more than a century thanks to a church bell whose ringing drove the enemy back. Early in the Indomitus Crusade, Saint Celestine, Inquisitor Katarinya Greyfax, the Custodian Longinus and the Black Templars Marshal Godshelm reached San Leor in the course of protecting Ecclesiarch Decius XXIII, who sought to repeal the Decree Passive, from assassination attempts. Lacking the forces to liberate the world, they left Sabrina and her Sisters to continue the defence, promising to return to their aid and proclaiming Sabrina acting Abbess of the Convent Sanctorum. The events on San Leor also drew Black Templars under Marshal Armond Montfort away from Ophelia VII, opening the way for the Tyrant of Blueflame’s return to the Ophelia System.
