War for Acheron

The War for Acheron was fought in late M41 on Acheron, an accursed world that emerges from the warp every five thousand years, after it was found to hold a catastrophic weapon known as the Spear of Khaine. Blood Ravens under Chapter Master Gabriel Angelos, the Biel-Tan Aeldari of Farseer Macha and the Orks of Gorgutz ’Ead ’Unter each sought the weapon; Angelos ran an Inquisitorial blockade to reach the planet in support of the Imperial Knights of Lady Solaria of House Varlock. After tracking Gorgutz’s forces to the vault that held the Spear, the Blood Ravens were caught in an Inquisition orbital bombardment meant to destroy the device, which instead broke the vault open. Angelos survived and led an attack on the temple of the Spear that overran both the Aeldari and the Orks, only to find that the Spear was a lure laid by Chaos to free a Bloodthirster and its daemonic host. The war ended when Angelos drove the battle barge Dauntless into a fissure in Acheron’s surface and teleported clear as the planet disintegrated.
