Anvillus System

The Anvillus System is a Great Crusade-era forge star system in the Ultima Segmentum, comparable to Mars in industrial output. Its yards still build Mars-Alpha Warlords. The world of Anvillus is the system’s principal prize.

The Blood Angels maintained an honour guard at Anvillus during the Great Crusade. When the Horus Heresy divided the Mechanicum, the order that administers the forge worlds, the forge fell into civil war. Order was subsequently restored, and the fate of the Blood Angels demi-company remains a subject that is seldom discussed. Each year a warp-barge arrives at Baal carrying arms equivalent to half a company, which the forge intends as an apology. In the millennia since, the yards have continued to operate; the civil war is commemorated in ceremony, though it is not solely a ceremonial matter.

The Anvillus System remains significant as evidence that Mars was not the only forge of consequence. Unofficial fan maps place the system under its parent Ultima Segmentum and distinguish Anvillus from the Anvilus9 pattern names that appear on datasheets.
