Baraspine System

The Baraspine System is a Calixis gravity well in the Adrantis Nebula whose hive world does not rotate, so its population lives at the poles. Some published sources spell the name Barsapine; this site uses Baraspine.

Because the hive world is tidally locked, its habitable settlement lies at the poles and its output comes from the twilight belt between the two hemispheres. The world produces cogitation cells and pottery. A college of soothsayers selects its governors. The system is a setting for Dark Heresy, the role-playing game, and is not a military stronghold of the Imperial crusades.

The Baraspine System remains on charts of the Calixis region as a named hive-world gravity well within the Adrantis Nebula. This summary records the nebula as the system’s parent location and the tidally locked condition of its principal world, and omits detailed climate data.
