Cheth

Cheth is an Imperial world in the Segmentum Tempestus, the site of the possession case The Emperor’s Gift, dated to 444.M41. The entry refers to the world of that Ordo Malleus case specifically, and not to any other agricultural world of the same name.

In that year Inquisitor Annika Jarlsdottyr and a force of Grey Knights banished a daemon that had taken the form of Regent Kezidha the Eleventh. The first Inquisitor dispatched to the world disappeared; Annika did not. The planetary court perished with its regent, so that the banishment ended in the loss of Cheth’s ruling government. The world continues to raise Imperial Guard regiments, including the Cheth Sixteenth Rifles.

Cheth remains notable as the named site of Annika Jarlsdottyr’s banishment. It is properly classed under its parent Segmentum Tempestus. It is not to be confused with Titan, with a later Grey Knights fortress, or with a Fenris sister world, and it is not a world without a Guard tithe (the levy of troops owed to the Imperium).
