Columnus

Columnus is a forge world of the Segmentum Solar, site of the Battle for Columnus, in which Iron Father Kristos defeated an Ork Waaagh. The victory was achieved at the cost of Raven Guard lives. This entry refers to the western Segmentum Solar manufactory. It is distinct from Dawnbreak and from any other settlement named Columnus.

During the battle, Shadow Captain Stenn offered intelligence to Kristos. Kristos judged the XIX unreliable and disregarded the offer. The Iron Council debated the outcome for two centuries, and the dispute gave rise to the Kristosian Conclave. Columnus retained its forges, while the Raven Guard continued to regard Kristos’s conduct as an insult.

Columnus remains significant as the named forge whose battle divided the philosophy of the Iron Hands. Unofficial summaries retain the Segmentum Solar as its parent location. They do not merge this entry with Dawnbreak, Gaudinia or Medusa.
