Crucible

Crucible is a hidden Mechanicus outpost within the warp storm Araken, or Tomb of the Ironclad, in the Ghost Stars, as depicted in the novel Iron Hands. The storm contains a world of corrupted Titans, and Anatolus Gdolkin discovered the outpost there. This entry describes that storm-world and no other location named Crucible.

Gdolkin travelled to the storm in search of Ferrus Manus, believed to be held in stasis. He instead found a Titan legion already under the control of Chaos. The Iron Hands detonated the engines, leaving a world that should not have appeared on any civilian chart. Separate entries cover the Eastern Fringe Crucible (crucible-2064), the Screaming Vortex Crucible (crucible-842) and Crucible V.

Crucible remains notable as the Titan-tomb associated with Gdolkin. The entry stays within the Ghost Stars and does not incorporate material from the Thramas Exclusion Zone or from the Emperor’s Children mining namesake.
