Cypra Mundi System

The Cypra Mundi System is the forge-world and fleet-capital star system of Segmentum Obscurus, from which Battlefleet Obscurus is directed. Cypra Mundi itself is the segmentum fortress. The surrounding system comprises shipyards, magazines, and the administrative apparatus that supports the continuing war in the north, including operations in the approaches to the Eye of Terror.

The Ultramarines relieved the system during an Ork war. Each Black Crusade since has treated the docks of Cypra Mundi as a target sufficiently important to warrant a diversion. The fall of Cadia did not end the fortress’s function; it left Cypra Mundi as the remaining capital of Segmentum Obscurus and increased its importance. The Great Rift has left the north divided, and fleet orders continue to be issued in the name of this system.

The Cypra Mundi System remains the principal reference point of Segmentum Obscurus because a segmentum without a fortress would be only a nominal grouping of ships. Unofficial fan summaries place the system under Segmentum Obscurus and do not transfer the segmentum’s capital to Cadia or Belis Corona.
