Ganymede

Ganymede is the largest moon of Jupiter and the former centre of the Jovian yards, later rebuilt as the Hub-Fortress Aquila Adamant. The rebuilt installation was constructed to serve the Indomitus fleets of Guilliman.

Abandoned laboratories of the Mechanicum, the technological priesthood of the Imperium, remain distributed throughout the moon’s crust. During the Noctis Aeterna, daemons seized Ganymede. The Grey Knights expelled them by burning them out. Tech-priests were at that time already sinking data-engines towards the moon’s core.

Ganymede’s standing rests on its successive roles: a principal hub of the Jovian yards, a fortress supporting the Indomitus fleets, and a site of continuing Mechanicum activity. The abandoned laboratories and the deep data-engines record the extent of that activity. The daemonic occupation and its removal by the Grey Knights form part of the moon’s history during the Noctis Aeterna.
