Gerstahl

Gerstahl is a shrine world whose coordinates are not recorded. In 909.M32, during the Third Black Crusade, Abaddon travelled to Gerstahl and destroyed the remains of Saint Gerstahl, acting to forestall a prophecy connected with them.

While Abaddon carried out the desecration, a diversion was launched elsewhere: a force under the daemon prince Tallomin attacked the fortress world of Cadia, drawing Imperial attention away from Gerstahl. The Space Wolves later confronted Tallomin and drove him into the warp, but by then the desecration of the saint’s remains had already been carried out.

The sequence left two outcomes side by side: Abaddon’s destruction of Saint Gerstahl’s remains was accomplished as intended, while the diversionary attack on Cadia was ultimately repelled.
