Gethsemane System

The Gethsemane System is a star system in the Gothic Sector and the namesake of its sub-sector, and the site of a major naval battle of the Gothic War.

In 151.M41, Lord Admiral Ravensburg forced a major Chaos fleet to give battle in the system. He nearly died in a baited crossfire, in which his forces were lured into the fire of two opposing groups. When the Chaos vessels attempted to withdraw, An-Iolsus Corsairs completed their destruction. The engagement did not end the Gothic War, but it broke Abaddon’s naval offensive in the sector.

The Gethsemane System remains significant as the first substantial Imperial victory in the void during that conflict. Unofficial summaries continue to record it as the parent location of the Gethsemane sub-sector.
