Golgotha

Golgotha is an Ork world of sulphur deserts and mountains, in the Golgotha System on the north-western rim of the Maelstrom, Ultima Segmentum. It has a thick atmosphere and a gravity of approximately 1.12 times that of Terra. It is not to be confused with the Golgotha Subsector of the Armageddon Sector; its own subsector is recorded both as Golgothan and as Golgathan.

Commissar Sebastian Yarrick was captured on Golgotha in the Ishawar mountain range. The expedition is dated to 944.M41 and also described as three years after the end of the Second War for Armageddon, which is elsewhere dated 941–943.M41; both figures are recorded. A later attack on the world involving Titans and an Ordinatus engine is described in one account as having scoured Golgotha of Orks before they retook it, and in another as having failed to dislodge the Orks, who retained their hold apart from a briefer, smaller Imperial expedition.

Operation Thunderstorm, an Imperial Guard operation, recovered the Baneblade Fortress of Arrogance from Golgotha; Yarrick was not with that army. A Black Templars crusade under Marshal Actoan campaigned on Golgotha in 996.M41, and Yarrick is not recorded as having taken part. The world is recorded as having remained under Ork control in the account that accompanies Operation Thunderstorm.
