Jupiter

Jupiter is a gas giant in the Sol system whose orbital docks have built Navy vessels, from interceptors to Emperor-class battleships, since the Crusade. It serves as the principal shipyard of the Sol system.

During the Solar War, Perturabo seized the cloud of moons surrounding the planet. Pirates, Night Lords and Emperor’s Children remained in the region afterwards and preyed upon it.

The Jovian void-clans preserved knowledge of ship construction that the Mechanicum did not share, and a belt of scrap known as the Caul still encircles the forges. In later periods the Adeptus Custodes and the Ordo Malleus, the Inquisition’s daemon-hunting order, purged heretical shipyards in Jovian orbit.
