Kaurava I

Kaurava I is the urban capital of a system in the Lithesh Sector and the Imperial Guard’s seat in the Soulstorm war. Its principal settlement is Kaurav City. The world is distinct from the Ork jungle and the tomb wastes, which are separate settings of the same conflict.

For centuries the system was left under a neglected Planetary Defence Force (PDF), the locally raised garrison of an Imperial world. A warp storm (a disturbance in the warp, the medium used for interstellar travel) then struck the outer worlds and exposed the system to invasion. Governor-General Vance Stubbs’ Imperial Guard attempted to hold the precincts of the capital. The Sisters of Battle meanwhile established a separate stronghold in the Sama District.

The Guard, under Stubbs, holds the capital, and the Sisters of Battle maintain their own position within it. The Blood Ravens, led by Indrick Boreale, were unsuccessful elsewhere in the system and did not rule the hive capital.
