Farseer Macha

Farseer

Also known as Macha

Homeworld: Biel-Tan

Farseer Macha is the Aeldari seer of Craftworld Biel-Tan’s Swordwind and a recurring figure in the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War storyline. As a Farseer, she is one of the Asuryani who read the skeins of possible futures and direct her craftworld’s warriors according to what she sees. Biel-Tan is the martial craftworld of the Aeldari, and the stated aim of its leadership is a galaxy of Exodite gardens: worlds resettled by the Aeldari outside the craftworlds. Macha’s prophecies repeatedly draw the Swordwind into conflicts that Biel-Tan can neither comfortably afford nor safely abandon, and in the Dawn of War narrative those conflicts most often intersect with the Blood Ravens Space Marine chapter.

Her first recorded involvement is on Tartarus, in the Dawn of War arc. She sought to keep the Maledictum sealed, judging it a danger that ought not to be opened. Gabriel Angelos, Force Commander of the Blood Ravens, destroyed it instead. The outcome is recorded as both useful and catastrophic, and it fixes the pattern of Macha’s later dealings with the chapter: a shared interest in an artefact, differing judgements about what to do with it, and consequences that neither party fully controls. Her next appearances place her in the Lorn system. In *Winter Assault* and *Tempest* she operates on Lorn V with a reforged Sword of Vaul, while *Soulstorm* sends her to Kaurava.

In *Dawn of War III*, Macha pursues the Spear of Khaine on Acheron, in contest with Gabriel Angelos and the other forces converging on the relic. There she recovers the spirit stone of Taldeer, and she must contend with prophecies that were, by the account of the story, left incomplete deliberately. That detail matters to how her role is read: Macha does not act on a single settled vision. She works from partial foresight, and the gaps in it shape her choices as much as the visions themselves. Her contemporaries in this window are Angelos and the Blood Ravens, Taldeer, whose stone she carries, and the Ork and other factions who also contest Acheron.

For the map and timeline, Macha is best treated as a Biel-Tan figure bound to a chain of locations: Tartarus, then Lorn V, then Kaurava, then Acheron, all within the Dawn of War arc. The character page for the Swordwind and the Biel-Tan craftworld page give the wider context of her allegiance. Accounts of her attitude to the Blood Ravens differ by campaign, but she is recorded as never having forgiven the chapter for what its actions on Tartarus set in motion. Her status is active, and no death or ascension is attested.
