Koronus Expanse Kronus Expanse

The Koronus Expanse is a region of the Halo Stars beyond the Calixis Sector, reached through the Maw and used as a frontier by Rogue Traders. It is distinct from Kronus, the planet that appears in Dawn of War. This map records the combined Koronus/Kronus name as a sector within Segmentum Obscurus.

Purity Lathimon sold the passage into the region, and the settlements of Port Wander and Footfall still levy charges on those who use it. Winterscale, Chorda and other warrant-holders search the Expanse for worlds beyond Imperial influence, xenos ruins and prizes in the Heathen Stars, such as Zayth. No Imperial Crusade ever brought the region into compliance, which is the circumstance that gives the Rogue Trader warrant its purpose.

The Koronus Expanse is best known as the setting of the Fantasy Flight Games and Owlcat Rogue Trader works. It is separate from Kronus in the Lithesh Sector. Unofficial summaries, including this one, retain Segmentum Obscurus as its parent and keep the combined identifier, but do not merge the region with the Dark Crusade world.
