Landunder System

The Landunder System is a hive world of the Malfian Sub-sector whose crust floats on a chemical ocean, with eight cities suspended beneath it. A ninth city, Subrique, extends a spire both above the waterline and almost to the seabed. Firearms are prohibited, because a stray shot can damage the structure of a hive, and the inhabitants, known as Landrians, settle disputes with named blades.

The system was colonised in 450.M39. It supplies ocean chemicals to Malfi and the Lathes. Tech-Priests regard its caustic, lifeless surface as that of a death world, despite the system’s designation as a hive world.

The Landunder System remains recorded on Calixis charts as the system with a floating crust. Unofficial maps continue to place it under the Malfian Sub-sector.
