Orar System

The Orar System is a hive system in the Gothic Sector, namesake of the Orar Sub-sector and site of an early Imperial success in the 12th Black Crusade. It is recorded chiefly for that reversal, not as a personal objective of Abaddon.

The planet Orar lies on the Bhein Morr–Orar corridor, a route that Imperial forces continued to use throughout the Gothic War. Warmaster Malefica Arkham attempted a surprise raid on the system early in the 12th Black Crusade. The battlegroup of Captain Compel Bast was already at its stations, and the Imperious pursued the Chaos fleet out of the system. For the remainder of the war the system served the Navy as a point of passage and was not a Blackstone anchorage.

The Orar System remains notable as a Gothic hive system that won the opening engagement fought over it. Unofficial maps place it under the Orar Sub-sector and distinguish it from the fortress of the neighbouring Anvil 206.
