Praetoria System

The Praetoria System is a Guard recruiting hive in the Segmentum Tempestus, situated near the naval yards at Bakka. Its rulers are wealthy, whereas the remainder of the population lives under rationing. The system serves as a source of manpower for the Guard.

Recruits drawn from the hive gangs are trained into regiments of the Praetorian Guard through parade-ground drill. The regiments continue to dress ranks, that is, to keep their formations aligned, while under fire. The Munitorum repeatedly requests further regiments from the system, which lies near Bakka.

The Praetoria System remains significant as a Tempestus manpower source whose regiments are shaped by parade-ground discipline. It is a Guard recruiting hive and is not counted among the cardinal worlds of Ophelia. Unofficial summaries place it under the Segmentum Tempestus and do not relocate it to the Segmentum Solar.
