Sagan II

Sagan II is a world in the Sagan System, in the Maelstrom Zone, known for a prison hulk on its night-side. It is distinct from Sagan III, the system’s tithe prize during the Badab War. This map records Sagan II under the Sagan System.

The hulk’s position on the night-side is described in Imperial Armour. The strategic importance of the system during the Badab War lay elsewhere, in the Administratum yards on Sagan III and the Karthan fleet anchorage. The Astral Claws sought to deny loyalist forces entry into the Maelstrom Zone through this system. Sagan II was a neighbouring world to that contested position, not the principal site of it.

Sagan II is remembered chiefly as the location of the prison hulk, not as the tithe world. Unofficial summaries keep it within the Sagan System and do not attribute to it the virus-weapon events associated with Sagan III. The map classifies it as a planet, and it is not reclassified as a station, despite the prominence of the hulk.
