Sanctum

Sanctum is the homeworld of the White Templars Space Marine Chapter, a world of mountains, plains, and techno-barbarian tribes in the Formidyre System of the Bastior Sub-sector. Lexicanum records place it variously on the edge of Segmentum Pacificus or in Segmentum Solar. In the Fourth Tyrannic War it became an Imperial Anchor World, its wilderness given over to fortress-cities, spaceports, and supply depots while much of the Chapter’s strength remained away on the Indomitus Crusade.

During the Battle of Bastior, tendril Grendyllus of Hive Fleet Leviathan invaded Sanctum in force. Captain-General Trajann Valoris led Custodes and Indomitus Fleet Sextus reinforcements that blunted the assault, saving Lord Commander Solar Arcadian Leontus from a Norn Emissary at Konstantin Plaza. Sanctum held, though Tyranids still plague the world. Holdfast, the White Templars fortress-monastery, remains its principal citadel.
