Savlar System

The Savlar System is a penal system in the Segmentum Solar, a short Warp jump from Armageddon and charted around Savlar Penitens. It functions as a place of confinement rather than as a centre of population or industry.

After Savlar Penitens failed to deliver its tithe, the levy owed to the Imperium, in the thirty-ninth millennium (M39), the Adeptus Arbites, the Imperial law-enforcement body, filled the world’s mines with convicts. The Arbites subsequently found that these inmates would fight if promised loot. The convict soldiers, known as Chem-Dogs, continue to serve in other forces’ campaigns so that they need not return to Savlar. The system is a chemical sink; it is neither a hive-world showpiece nor a counterpart of Krieg.

The Savlar System remains the Imperium’s nearest low-cost source of regiments to Armageddon. Unofficial summaries retain the Segmentum Solar as its parent region and do not relocate it into the Armageddon Sector.
