Shedim

Shedim is the outer gas giant of the otherwise empty Grief System in the Maelstrom Zone, where the Betrayal at Grief took place.

The Betrayal at Grief was a parley held in 906.M41. It ended in the deaths of Lord Commander Ortys of the Red Scorpions and Chapter Master Sartaq of the Mantis Warriors. The meeting occurred at a derelict way-station in Shedim’s cloud deck. It did not occur on Grief I, the other world of the system with which the event is sometimes associated.

Shedim is the location associated with the void-battle setting of the Grief System. Grief I is the system’s death world, a separate location. The two are recorded apart so that the site of the parley is attributed to the gas giant and not to the death world.
