Siscia

Siscia is a minor Imperial mining world in the Ophidian Sub-sector, described as a Celedin exporter of promethium. Its inhabitants live in tunnels dating from before the Strife and rarely see the sky. The world is known chiefly from a Sisters of Battle comic and is not a capital of the Calixis Sector.

A heretic uprising and the disappearance of an Inquisition acolyte brought the squadron of Canoness Veridyan into the mines. Life expectancy among the miners was already poor before the intervention of Chaos. Siscia is distinct from Scintilla, is not a shrine world, and is not one of the quarries of the Obscurus region.

Siscia’s standing rests on its role as the named mine of the Sisters of Battle comic. Unofficial summaries retain the Ophidian Sub-sector as its parent, decline to raise it to the rank of sector capital, and distinguish it from other worlds of the Ophidian Sub-sector.
