Sthenelus System

The Sthenelus System is the home star system of the Iron Hands in the Medusan Sub-sector, named after its star, Sthenelus. It is the waste-world entry for Medusa, and is distinct from the Fall of Medusa V campaign cluster. Its principal world is a quake-torn planet beneath a poisoned sky, across which clan haulers travel.

Ferrus Manus landed on the planet, killed the wyrm Asirnoth, and left the world as harsh as he had found it. The system also contains the bodies Graea, Hesperos, Ladon, Pindar, Raeon, Skylla, Thennos and Thoosa, together with the orbital ruin Telstarax. During the 13th Black Crusade, Chaos forces attacked the planet in the largest tank battle since the Horus Heresy.

The Sthenelus System remains significant as the actual home of the Iron Hands. Unofficial fan summaries retain the Medusan Sub-sector as its parent and do not merge this entry with the Medusa V campaign entry under medusa-system.
