Stygia-Aquilon
Stygia-Aquilon is a pair of worlds, one of fire and one of ice, associated with the Executioners Chapter, with the asteroid fortress Darkenvault between them. The two worlds are locked around a dying sun, and Darkenvault lies trapped between them. The system is often described as the Executioners’ twin worlds.
After the Badab conflict, the Executioners undertook a penitent crusade lasting a century. Sources disagree on which force held the twin worlds during this period: some name the Sons of Medusa, others the Salamanders together with their successor Chapters. Later accounts return the Chapter to the system.
Stygia-Aquilon is distinct from other similarly named locations. It should not be confused with Stygia, a dead Knight world, or with Stygies VIII or Stygia XII. Its standing rests on its association with the Executioners and on the unusual arrangement of a fire world, an ice world and an asteroid fortress bound to a failing star.
