Tranquility II
Tranquility II is a feudal desert world in the Tranquility System of the Maelstrom Zone, neighbouring the Mantis Warriors Chapter. In the thirty-eighth millennium (M38) the Mantis Warriors fought Dark Eldar slavers, Ork pirates and cultists in the system, and these actions are associated with this world rather than with the jungle world Tranquility III. This map retains the alias Tranquility for the entry.
The Mantis Warriors broke the Dark Eldar raiders in the campaign known as the Scourge of the Slave Lords and regarded the desert as part of their Endymion fief, or territorial holding. The Badab War later brought Carcharodons through the whole system. Tranquility III lost the Valley of the Nine Winds in that period, while Tranquility II kept its feudal character. It is neither a shrine world nor a peaceful garden world.
Tranquility II remains notable as the desert location that Imperial Armour names. Unofficial summaries retain the Tranquility System designation, do not attribute the giant insects to this location, and distinguish the world from the un-numbered Tranquility entry.
