Tranquility III

Tranquility III is a jungle death world in the Endymion Cluster, formerly used by the Mantis Warriors as a training ground in the Valley of the Nine Winds. A death world is a planet whose environment is hostile to human life. Its inhabitants included feral tribes and mega-insects.

The Mantis Warriors held the world as part of their fief, and the native tribes regarded the Chapter as defenders of the sky. During the Badab War, the Carcharodons terrorised the Tranquility system until the Mantis Warriors broke. The Chapter later lost the fief.

Tranquility III is recorded chiefly for its association with the Mantis Warriors and for its place in the Badab War. Its standing rests on its earlier role as the Chapter’s training ground and on the loss of the fief that followed the conflict.
