Valhallan System

The Valhallan System, in the Segmentum Ultima, contains Valhalla, a former green colony frozen after an iron comet displaced it from its orbit. The system is classed as an ice well, and Valhalla is its principal world.

After the impact, the planet’s oceans froze. The survivors excavated cities into the ice and fought the Orks in the conflict known as the War of Survival. The Imperial Guard regiments raised on Valhalla, the Ice Warriors, still treat cold conditions as an operational advantage. Since the opening of the Great Rift, the system has lain within Imperium Nihilus. Tanna tea is a customary local drink.

The Valhallan System remains a source of Ice Warrior regiments for the Imperial Guard. It is a Guard recruiting world with its own history, distinct from Fenris. Unofficial summaries place the system in the Segmentum Ultima and do not relocate it to the Segmentum Solar.
