Vaxanide System

The Vaxanide System is a hive location in the Malfian Sub-sector, on the Calixis rim, ruled by House Vaxanide from Hive Vaxanhive. The system exports porcelain, glass and fish, and maintains a shrine to Drusus whose pilgrims attest to its efficacy. Its comparative poverty and weak civil order have kept it outside the inner circle of Scintilla.

Ork forces attacked the system in 410.M41, and the hulk (a derelict vessel or agglomeration of vessels) known as the Pinnacle of Savagery did so in 507.M41. Battlefleet Calixis defeated both. Beyond the hive precincts, the authority of the law is limited. The system is a rim hive rather than a sector capital.

The Vaxanide System remains a gateway to the Malfian Sub-sector that Calixis has not fully brought under settled civil order. Unofficial summaries retain its Malfian parent designation and do not present it as equal in standing to Scintilla.
