Venus

Venus is an industrial world of cloud-hives in the Sol System, reshaped from a volcanic environment into a working planet of the Imperium.

Before its conversion, Venus was held by the native War Witches and their armies of litho-golems. During the Great Crusade, the Iron Warriors, the Legion of the primarch Perturabo, led the Mehr Yasht campaign against the planet. The campaign broke the War Witches and their litho-golem armies, opening the way to Venus’s reshaping into an Imperial industrial world.

Venus lies within the Sol System alongside Terra and Mars, so its Great Crusade campaign sits within the wider Imperial reconstruction of the Imperium’s own home system rather than a distant frontier war.

An artificial moon named Neith orbits Venus. It serves as a seed vault, holding plant stock gathered from across the Imperium, a function recorded as continuing into the present era.
