Vostroya

Vostroya is an industrial world of manufactoria and Techtriarchs, whose firstborn sons serve in the Imperial Guard in settlement of a debt. Its atmosphere is poisonous, and its food is imported.

During the Crusade era, Vostroya declined to raise regiments for the Imperial Guard. It discharged the resulting obligation by sending every firstborn son into the Guard, a practice that defines the world’s relationship with the Imperium.

The firstborn continue to wear red and gold, as though the obligation remained outstanding. Older lexicon entries place Vostroya beyond the Eye; the map currently in use does not.
