Wheel of Fire

The Wheel of Fire is a region of unstable nebulae and wandering stars, recorded as a subsector of Imperial space also known as Eastern Spiral Subsector 4. No segmentum assignment beyond that designation, and no galactic coordinates, are attested for it.

In the early Great Crusade the Space Wolves under Leman Russ fought the Wheel of Fire Campaign there against Orks, losing about a third of the Legion before the Emperor rewarded Russ with the Fang and the Spear of Russ. Long afterward the region was thought inaccessible behind violent warp storms until Navigator Durlan Ocellati found a stable route in 981.M41; the Space Wolves’ 519th Crusade then cleansed Ork holdouts, ending on Xit in 987.M41.

Inhabited worlds in the subsector are recorded as hosting Human and Ork populations among others. Seraphina is named as a world cleansed in the Great Crusade campaign, and as the place where Russ received the Spear of Russ.
