Yarant III

Yarant III is a Segmentum Solar world and the site of the Wolf Cull, a Horus Heresy siege of Leman Russ and the Space Wolves by traitor forces. The besiegers were a mixed force under Abaddon, drawn from the Sons of Horus, the Alpha Legion, the World Eaters and the Thousand Sons.

Following the events at Trisolian, Russ lay comatose while these forces closed a ring around the Space Wolves. Corax broke the blockade and evacuated with Bjorn rather than perishing on the ice.

Yarant III remains associated with the Weregeld. The designation refers only to the third world of that name within the Segmentum Solar. It is distinct from the location recorded separately as Yarant and from Yarant I and Yarant IV, and it excludes later namesakes outside the Horus Heresy.
