Beldame Sadia

Beldame Sadia was the Darknight antagonist Eisenhorn hunted through the Saint Kiodrus catacombs on Lethe XI.

She worked the hive’s sacred dark when its pilgrim-lights failed, turning the catacombs’ processional architecture — built for the devout who came to venerate Saint Kiodrus — into a killing ground. Eisenhorn’s case was a home-hive matter: it put him back under the catacombs opposite a heretic who understood, better than an outside investigator could, how Lethe prayed and moved in the dark.

That familiarity is recorded as the investigation’s central difficulty, and it marks Sadia and Eisenhorn as the case’s two defining figures rather than Sadia and some anonymous cult. The hunt is remembered on Lethe XI not as a diffuse rumour of cult activity in the lower hive, but as a named confrontation tied to one specific place within it.

Darknight ended with Sadia broken within those tunnels. Lethe XI still lists her as the named horror beneath Saint Kiodrus, a distinction that keeps her case apart from the generic cult legends otherwise attached to the hive’s undercroft.
