Gregor Eisenhorn is an Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos, born in 198.M41 and associated in later files with Lethe XI and the Helican theatre of the Scarus Sector. Elevated to the full rank of Inquisitor in 222.M41 after service as an interrogator under Hapshant, he began as an Amalathian Puritan whose early cases, including the sealing of a regia occulta on Ignix, gave little hint of the radical path his career would take.

In 240.M41 the murder of sleepers in the cryotombs of Hubris drew him onto the trail of Pontius Glaw and the Necroteuch. The purge of House Glaw on Gudrun, the recovery of the Pontius crystal on Damask, and the destruction of Saruthi copies of the tome at KCX-1288 and 56-Izar fixed his name to the Helican Schism and first brought him into collision with the daemonhost Cherubael.

The mid-century hunt for the renegade Inquisitor Quixos, opened by the Thracian Primaris atrocity that crippled his pupil Gideon Ravenor, carried Eisenhorn through Eechan, Cadia and Cinchare to Farness Beta, where he killed Quixos and took the Malus Codicium. Declared Extremis Diabolus and later cleared, he nonetheless slid further from Puritan practice, binding Cherubael and rebuilding a retinue around the Distaff founded by Alizebeth Bequin on Messina.

In 386.M41 Pontius Glaw’s vengeance shattered that organisation, from the fall of Spaeton House on Gudrun to Glaw’s death on Ghül. Eisenhorn thereafter moved as a half-acknowledged radical, surfacing in the Magos investigations on Gershom and in the Bequin-era pursuit of the King in Yellow through Queen Mab and the City of Dust. Ravenor remained his most consequential pupil; Bequin, his most lasting casualty and hope.
