Gideon Ravenor

Inquisitor

Also known as Inquisitor Ravenor

Gideon Ravenor served the Ordo Xenos of the Inquisition as a protégé of Gregor Eisenhorn, under whose instruction he trained in the investigative and interrogative disciplines that would define his later career. Nothing is recorded of his origins or homeworld; his documented life begins with his apprenticeship to Eisenhorn, from whom he acquired both method and a number of trusted retainers who would later serve in his own warband.

Grievous injuries sustained during the Thracian Primaris Holy Novena left Ravenor without the use of his body, confined thereafter to a life-sustaining force chair through which he projected his will and, increasingly, his psychic presence. He was raised to the rank of Inquisitor in 346.M41. Much of his subsequent career was consumed by the pursuit of the renegade Zygmunt Molotch and the heretical Cognitae teaching network associated with the cant-language Enuncia, a hunt that carried his retinue across Zenta Malhyde, the hive city of Petropolis on Eustis Majoris, the frozen moon of Utochre, and ultimately to Elmingard on Gudrun.

The investigation drew Ravenor into conflict with Slyte, a warp entity whose influence reached his retinue through the corruption of his own interrogator, Carl Thonius. In later years, Ravenor was again at Eisenhorn’s side amid the City of Dust, rejoining his former master for a further investigation.
