The Doom of Malan'tai

The Doom of Malan'tai is a Zoanthrope that feeds on souls instead of meat. After Hive Fleet Naga broke on Eldar guns, a dying bioship spat one last spore-cluster into Craftworld Malan'tai. The defenders hunted the obvious monsters and ignored a vampiric brain-beast browsing the Infinity Circuit.

It drank the dead, then the living, until the craftworld was a shell and the creature was something close to invulnerable. No confirmed sighting has followed that feast. Neurothropes look like cousins. The Doom looks like a completed sentence.

Iyanden survived a similar hunger by inches. Malan'tai did not. The name is the after-action report.
