Lord Admiral Ravensburg commanded Battlefleet Gothic when Abaddon took the 12th Black Crusade through the sector and made the name a byword for convoy war. Port Maw was the desk. The void was the job. He had to win a war of escorts and shipyards while Chaos fleets treated planets as ammunition.

Gethsemane and the long grind of the Gothic War are the actions the Navy still teaches. Ravensburg did not duel the Despoiler for a poster. He counted hulls until the arithmetic favoured Terra.

The sector survived. That is the only medal a lord admiral actually wants. Everything else is paint on a flagship that has to stay in the line.
