Gothic Sector

The Gothic Sector is the Segmentum Obscurus war-zone of Abaddon's 12th Black Crusade, the Gothic War, a cube of sub-sectors around Port Maw, the Cyclops Cluster, and the Blackstone Fortresses. It sits close to the Ultima border, and for a generation of Imperial Navy doctrine this was the map that taught the fleet how to lose a star.

Abaddon came for the Blackstones. Worlds such as Schindlegeist, Tarantis, and Brinaga became footnotes to fortress-weapons that could snuff a sun; Eldar corsairs, Orks, and traitor battlegroups all fished in the same storm. Sub-sectors including Orar, Gethsemane, Lysades, Bhein Morr, and Quinrox Sound still carry Gothic War scars on later charts. The sector did not empty afterward — it just learned to live next to wreckage.

The Gothic Sector still matters because Blackstone architecture and Battlefleet Gothic both point here, not at Cadia. Unofficial fan maps keep the Segmentum Obscurus parent and do not fold the whole sector into a single Port Maw pin.
