Scabeiathrax

Scabeiathrax the Bloated is a Great Unclean One, a daemon of Nurgle, and one of the most powerful of that kind. He is described as a father of plagues, a figure too large to be contained by any single battlefield.

Other Great Unclean Ones are distinguished by their methods: Ku’gath is associated with experimentation and Rotigus with rain. Scabeiathrax is presented as the finished product of such approaches, unhurried and good-humoured in manner. Imperial daemonologies, the Imperium’s studies of daemons, place him near the top of Nurgle’s court.

His work does not depend on an elaborate scheme. It requires time, warmth, and a population that believes it has already survived the worst. The same sources credit his afflictions with a reach that extends across whole sectors.
