Battle of Gathalamor in the Indomitus Crusade

The Battle of Gathalamor in the Indomitus Crusade was fought on the cardinal world of Gathalamor against Iron Warriors and Word Bearers forces early in Guilliman’s Indomitus Crusade. Traitor commanders named in the fighting include Torvann Lokk of the Iron Warriors, Kar-Gatharr of the Word Bearers, and the sorcerer Tenebrus; Imperial defenders included Mordian and Phyroxian Guard, House Kamidar Knights, and Sisters of the Order of the Argent Shroud under Canoness Imelda Veritas. One Codex account records Captain-General Trajann Valoris leading a combined force of Custodians and Grey Knights under Aldrik Voldus in the battle. The later novel The Gate of Bones instead places Tribune Maldovar Colquan at the head of a fifty-strong Custodes contingent, without Valoris or Voldus, and has the Custodes depart for Terra after the Battle for the Statue Steps while Grey Knights purge survivors who had learned too much of Chaos. Both traditions place Custodes and Grey Knights among the Imperial relief that broke the traitor hold on the world.
