Battle of Gildar Secundus
The Battle of Gildar Secundus was the ground campaign that ended the war in the Gildar Rift, fought on Gildar Secundus, the principal settled world of the Gildar System, between the Silver Skulls and the Red Corsairs of Huron Blackheart. The Red Corsairs had entered the Rift behind the captured Space Wolves strike cruiser Wolf of Fenris, with Huron and his whole renegade fleet following. After the Silver Skulls fleet under Captain Daerys Arrun, Master of the Fleet and captain of the 4th Company, destroyed three of their Executor-class grand cruisers, the Corsairs scattered and took refuge on the inhabited worlds of the Rift. Arrun then led the invasion of Gildar Secundus and drove the renegades back, but was killed there by Huron himself. The Silver Skulls declared the Rift free of Chaos within weeks, while Huron withdrew with enough of his force to remain a threat.
