Besana campaign

The Besana campaign was the recovery of Besana, a desert mining world in the Gort System worked by the Imperium for cad-ore. It is dated to 996.M41, also described only as late M41, during Warmaster Ryse’s crusade. The system was held by General Travis when the Anckorite Brotherhood, cultists of Luciver Anckor, rebelled and defeated the Imperial forces sent against them; Ryse then ordered Creed to win back the Gort System. Creed reinforced a fortified position held by Major Luka on the world’s paved roads, the only safe travel given the poisoned soil, the cad-ore dust that made the air poisonous without protection, and the slipsand hidden in the deserts, keeping the cult from the spaceport and unable to go around. The Grand Cruiser Magister Thine opened fire on the Anckorite Brotherhood and devastated it. The Brotherhood then retreated into Imperial troops Creed had sent behind it and, trapped between the two forces, was destroyed, so that Besana was held. Shortly before the Thirteenth Black Crusade the world fell to Chaos, and Creed is not recorded as present for that later fall.
