Beta Bequin’s blank identity broke open in Queen Mab when Cognitae schooling and the Maze Undue’s collapse forced her into the open. Lilean Chase’s academy had filed her as a manufactured pariah. Renner Lightburn and later companions pulled her through the hive’s gates while the City of Dust answered from the other side. The awakening was not a single miracle. It was Queen Mab teaching Beta that every name she wore had already been written by someone else.
