Black Legion / Cypher STC raid

The Black Legion / Cypher STC raid was a theft of Standard Template Construct archives from Voss Prime by Black Legion Terminators and Cypher. Standard Template Construct (STC) data comprises pre-Imperial blueprints for manufacturing technology, fragments of which survive on scattered worlds and are prized wherever found. The raid is placed within the forty-first millennium; no more precise date is recorded. Voss Prime, the target of the raid, is a forge world of the Adeptus Mechanicus in the Armageddon Sector of the Segmentum Solar, known as the Right Hand of Mars. It is the forge world lying closest to Armageddon itself, is home to the Legio Invigilata, a Titan Legion, and stands beside the mineral-rich Mordan Belt. Such a world was a natural repository for STC fragments, and its holdings evidently drew the attention of the raiders. Terminators of the Black Legion, operating alongside the renegade Cypher, breached Voss Prime’s defences and made off with the STC material held there. Beyond this bare outline, the engagement is thinly attested: no defending force is named, the location of the breach on Voss Prime is not identified, and the scale of the attacking force and the duration of the fighting are not recorded. The episode stands as one of the few attested occasions on which the Black Legion and Cypher are recorded as acting together, though whether this reflected a shared purpose, a chance convergence, or one party making use of the other is not stated. The fate of the stolen archives, and any use subsequently made of them, is likewise unrecorded, leaving the raid’s wider consequences for Voss Prime and for the Imperium’s store of Standard Template Construct knowledge undetermined.
